The London conferences of Women into Leadership, due to take place in September, were postponed due to the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. However, the Dods Diversity & Inclusion team & the FDA were ready to welcome nearly 900 delegates, speakers and coaches for an immersive personal development day. Breakfast, lunch, and drinks had been catered to everyone, but the food didn’t go to waste.
Turning the event into an opportunity to do good for the community, Dods Diversity & Inclusion decided to donate the food to CHESS Homeless.
Lynne Dejoodt, marketing and fundraising manager at CHESS, explained: “We currently have 12 properties that can accommodate up to 64 individuals – so that is a lot of mouths to feed on a daily basis!
“Our service users are provided with a single bedroom and shared bathroom, kitchen, lounge and laundry facilities. We provide them with breakfast and a hot meal, plus making lunch and snacks available in the kitchens.”
CHESS aims to ensure that people who find themselves homeless are supported in ways that enable them to move forward purposefully and in good health. “Balanced meals are part of that mission, and with rising food prices, this can be a challenge. We want to thank Dods Diversity & Inclusion and Women into Leadership for the donation,” she concluded.
Women into Leadership London conferences will take place on 13 and 14 December. Existing bookings have been transferred automatically to the new dates, accordingly. We’re also pleased to let you know that places are still available.
